ABOUT VIKKIE

Nationally renowned Vikkie Steege has trained for over 20 years in many dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern , kathak, african, contemporary. Since 2003 Vikkie has been a keen Hip Hop & Street dancer and is still evolving her styles today. Devoting all her spare time into researching and training with some of the world’s best dancers and choreographers in order to develop her knowledge and skills. The eclectic and extensive training means that Vikkie has a unique and vibrant approach to choreography and teaching.

In 2002 Vikkie achieved an A.I.D.T.A and in 2005 a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture and AUSd.

As well as the relevant qualifications Vikkie has also trained with the world’s best hip hop, funk and street dance artists including:

  • Ken Swift- Rock Steady Crew, USA (Bboying or Breakdance)
  • Poppin Pete- Electric Boogaloos, USA (Popping & Boogaloo)
  • Gemini, France (Locking)
  • Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy- Boy Blue, UK (Nu Skool Streetdance)
  • Robert Hylton- RHUC, UK (Street & Contemproary Fusion)

Vikkie and T21Dance credits include Nike Dance Clash Finalist 2007, EOY finalist 2008, Breakin’ Convention (’05, ’06, ’07), Resolution!, UK Streetdance Championships, Blueprint, Collabo, South Of England Show, FLYA and Estudanses.

ABOUT T21 TUTORS

Jo Read is currently teaching the Guildford sessions on behalf of T21. Jo has an IDTA Associate and is fully qualified and insured but is also in her final year of a dance degree. Jo has worked with Vikkie for 4 years and has also trained with some of the UK’s best Hip Hop & Street Dance artists such as Lil Tim, Purvez, Fred Folkes, Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy and Robert Hylton. Jo has a really keen interest in studying the true styles of hip hop and street dances and is a wonderful teacher. Her choreography is creative, challenging and really exciting to watch. Jo has a natural ability to bring the best out of young dancers and develop their skills to another level.

Amy Maynard has performed in many prestigious events across the country and is one of our most dynamic and exciting new teachers. Amy has trained with Vikkie for the past 5years but has also learnt from Birdgang, Bboy Mouse, Clara, Peridot, Dey Dey and many other amazing artists from around the world.

Jamie Morris has vast performance experiences across the UK with County Hip Hop Youth Dance Company NoCo. Jamie has worked with Vikkie for over 4 years and has also trained with other UK artists such as Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy of Boy Blue and Hakeem Onibudo of Impact Dance.

Poppy Clarke has trained with T21Dance for the last 3 years and has a great of experience performing across various venues at many prestigious events. Poppy has predominantly trained locally but has also learnt from superb artists including Jeffery from the Animaniax, Birdgang, Bboy Mouse, and many others!

Remi is the newest addition to our team! Origninally from London Remi has attended classes with all the great London Dance groups as well as training with Vikkie for the past year.

ABOUT T21 TEACHERS IN TRAINING

T21 is also mentoring local young artists to provide high quality hip hop and street dance based classes while they are still in professional training.

Roxy Bryant is currently training at LABAN and is in her final year of the 3 year degree course. She has a great rapport with young people and constantly strives to create innovative choreography that challenges dancers. Roxy has trained with Vikkie for over 2 years in many hip hop & street dance styles before beginning her training in London where she now also dances for dynamic street group Toyboxx.
